your posts touched me so deeply; i dont know how to thank you all or how to tell you how much your kindness and love have meant today.. i know we all have so many of our own problems and issues to deal with; i feel kind of foolish for.....god, i dont know what?
for feeling so lost, so utterly impotent to change all that is going on, both inside my head as well as in my family, that i would be weak enough to want to give up and give in.

it brings ever clearer the dysfunction of jehovah's witnesses and how they treat child molesters.
in my local congregation the individual who admitted molesting children seems to be held in high esteem.

Bill, I do have a question about the situation you began with. If the sister/wife was uninformed, yet the brother/husband was known to have participated in porneia, by the elders, wasn't she entitled to know?

This lack of love thing is actually the key-note of my da letter. I could have brought up all the lies and false stuff, but when you get to the heart of what a Christian is suposed to look and act like, they didn't measure up to the standard that they taught me from the bible, so actually I DF'd them for conduct unbecoming a Christian.

if they could set up pay pal accounts and enough of us could contribute say $20 - $50 per month it would help them though their hardship.. these two people have helped many escape from the wts and i know for sure have given money and other material help to those in need, even when they could not afford it.. if you can help, send an email to: [email protected].

Hi Tri,
I had heard of Farkel's situation and didn't know how to help. I knew that Max had left the board for some important reason, but had no idea why, really. It is so easy to read the posts of the intellegent ones and say "That was sooooo good". It is anothere thing to remember that there are real live people that made those posts. Thanks for the reminder that these dear ones are truly our friends and are in need of our help. I will make some adjustments in my life, so that I can help the ones that have helped me in my time of desperation. How else can I show how much I appreciate their words and works? They have done so much to lift my spirit and inspire my soul. It is such a little thing to just not buy something that I see that I want and give that little bit to help someone that is in much greater want than I can imagine.
Friends, we are being called upon to help out our 2 friends in their time of trouble. Have you ever seen a guy on a street corner with a sign and thought "How did he get to such a low point?" Those guys didn't have the network of friends that OUR friends have. It is a small sacrifice that we can individually make for those that we know, love and appreciate. Whatever you settle in your heart to give, is a fine thing.

It is very interesting that the dates of the adoption of the name of "Jehovah's Witnesses" was presented to the congregates in July. I know that the corp of the wtbts must have adopted this name long before that, why else would they have presented it to the congregation in the form of a resolution? That being said, the truth of the adoption date declaring the wtbts as carrying God's name, would have come on the day that they had a majority of votes. Doesn't all that sound too silly. What does Jehovah care about ceasers laws anyway? If such a group or corporation adopted Jehovah's name and wasn't inline with the scriptures, it is mute point(which can clearly be shown from history).
Jehovah isn't involved with the legal situation that man has devised. He has his own set of laws that are clearly defined and the corp. known as the WTBTS wasn't in line with those at the time they took His name upon themselves. That being said, how could any resolution that humans adopted have any influence on what Jehovah?
The only covenants that are truly pronounced and accepted in the scriptures as being valid and binding upon man, are ones that Jehovah instituted. This is not one of them and is not recognized by Him. This is one that some people made to Jehovah.

A New Breed Of JW Emerging?

i know that there are lots of real brainwashed dubs around who see demons behind every car boot sale item and who scuttle off to the elders with every bit of tittle-tattle imaginable, but, i think that there is a new type of dub who quietly does just as he / she pleases.. this is what i think: many of the long-serving jw's who have seen the 1975 failure and the 1914 generation change are now approaching old age with something of a jaundiced eye, and are choosing to do their own thing in their remaining years.
in conversations i am picking up it seems that the elders are being regarded somewhat derisively by many jw's.

Hi Folks,
This is something that I have noticed as well, but it isn't isolated to the older ones. My daughter and hubby, both active jw's, see nothing wrong with talking or visiting with me, da'd, as long as we don't talk religion. They go to college, have plans to send their kids to college and are truly seeing the reality of the old age that they will face. A new breed for sure.

Welcome to the real world. I was like you, I always asked too many questions and I wasn't satisfied with the answers that I was given in the wtbts. The only advice that I can give to you right now is, don't do anything that will blow your cover. Keep your inside track open for the rest of us and for those that you love on the inside. I know that you probably can't handle hearing the lies in the talks or giving the talks that have lies in them, but value highly the position you still have. Use your position to learn all you can about the current situation and the climate of the brothers. I still have loved ones inside and am interested in everything that is going on to help them get out. You never know what little thing you might hear that will have a great impact on all the captives.
